Weekend organisation plans - client care and final Christmas prep

Phooeee, one more weekend till Christmas. Are you ready? I’m not sure I am, but never mind - it’s happening in a few short days whether I like it or not. Especially as one of these weekend days I’m caring for a client who was desperate to have her bedroom transformation completed before Christmas. So that’s me on Saturday morning - I’m actually really excited about this transformation as I know it is going to make a huge impact on this busy young family’s day-to-day life, and I’m delighted I was able to help them before Christmas. How cool to start the New Year with a clean slate!

I’m happy to work the occasional Saturday for my clients when there is no other option. Working Saturday isn’t my preference though, and not for the reasons you might think. The main reason Saturdays aren’t my first choice for working is the number of distractions present for my clients - it is so much harder on them when there is a partner or kids in the mix, jobs that need to be done around the house. It’s really hard to give the decluttering project full attention when there are so many other things crying out for attention around the house. Working during the week usually guarantees a level of quiet that is difficult to achieve on Saturdays. I’ll be sharing the transformation on the blog early next year some time, so keep your eyes peeled.

The only other task I need to tackle this weekend is the last of my Christmas wrapping. Thanks to my Kikki K Paper Lover’s Christmas Book I have my colour scheme sorted, and actually have managed to knock off a lot of the items during the week. Our biggest challenge is not leaving presents under the tree, which we have always done in the past immediately after wrapping them. This year we can’t do that because young Otis wouldn’t be able to contain himself, and because I don’t love wrapping in the first place there is no way I’m going to be willing to wrap them again if they are subject to a little toddler CSI (Christmas Scene Investigation). We don’t have a lot of storage space in our home so I’m having to employ all of my craftiest storage techniques to squeeze wrapped pressies wherever I can, without compromising on normal household functionality. It’s a challenge I’m totally here for, I love getting creative with new and interesting spatial issues!

How are you faring in the final lead up to Christmas? Have you already moved on from the ham overdose that looms large on the horizon, and are thinking instead about some goals for 2019? Don’t forget that in January I am doing an EPIC MEGA GIVEAWAY that totally sweetens the deal if you have been considering commissioning me for a decluttering project. I’d love to help you, and I’d love for you to snap up one of my awesome bonuses or the grand giveaway prize itself.
